Patriots vs. Saints Quarter 4
Brees throws an incomplete pass on the first play of the 4th, and the Saints then punt the ball back to the Patriots.
Brady goes deep to Sam Aiken on the first play of the drive and overthrows him and misses out on what could have been a touchdown. The Patriots are not in sync right now and are missing a lot of plays that could go for big gains. Kevin Faulk is stuffed on a run for only a gain of 1 yard. Brady gets pressured and throws a short pass to Welker that is short of a 1st down, and forces the Patriots to punt again. The defense has to step up again and force the Saints to punt to try and save the offense again. The Patriots offense has been basically shutting down in the 2nd half of games, as teams are simply adjusting and beating the Patriots.
Brees hits Colston for a big oain on their first play of the drive, gaining 27 yards on the pass. Bell then takes the ball for a short 5 yard gain. Brees hits Meachem for a 1st down and is picking apart the Patriots defense. Thomas runs for a gain of 5 on the next play, and then Bell is stopped for a short gain on the next. On 3rd and 5, Brees hits Meachem again for another 1st down. After a short gain by Bell, Brees hits Colston in the end zone to extend the Saints lead to 38-17, and the Patriots defense simply cannot keep up with the Saints offense.
Salter takes a knee in the end zone on the kickoff to bring the ball out to the 20 yard line. Faulk breaks a tackle by Sedrick Ellis on a draw play to gain 7 yards. The Patriots are now running a hurry up offense to try and back into this game quickly, and Brady throws an errant pass that is intercepted by Darren Sharper, who brings it back to the Patriots 26 yard line. After Bell gains 4 and then 2 yards on rushes, Brees overthrows a receiver in the end zone, and the Saints are forced to attempt a FG. Carney misses the FG, and the Patriots are barely alive in this game still with the score 38-17 and 5:26 remaining in the game.
Brian Hoyer is now in the game, as the Patriots have now conceded to the fact that they will not win this game. Ben-Jarvus Green-Ellis gets 2 consecutive carries to gain a total of 2 yards, and then Hoyer overthrows Stanback to go 3 and out.
Henderson catches the punt at the 22 yard line and that's where the Saints will start their next drive. Bell gains 4 yards on the first carry of the drive, and then gains 2 more on his next carry. Bell gets the 1st down on the next play, but a holding call on David Thomas brings the play back. Bell also walks on the field with an apparent ankle injury, a bad sign for the Saints if it is anything more than a simple tweek. Thomas gets the penalty yards back, but the Saints do not get the 1st down and the clock winds down to the 2 minute warning.
After the punt, Hoyer hits Sam Aiken on consecutive 1st downs to gain 1st downs. Hoyer then tries to hit Stanback who in unable to handle the pass. Hoyer is sacked by Will Smith on the next play, and the Patriots will allow the clock to run out and end this game. The Saints crowd cheers their team for putting on a show against the Patriots ,who have a lot of questions to answer now after being beaten by 2 teams they are competing against to get to the Super Bowl. The final score, Saints 38, Patriots 17.
Look here tomorrow for a game recap and analysis on what exactly went wrong in this game.

Look here tomorrow for a game recap and analysis on what exactly went wrong in this game.
Patriots vs. Saints Quarter 3
On the 1st play of the 2nd half, Maroney gets the ball and after gaining some good yardage, fumbles the ball to the Saints. After the Saints try to return the ball back, the Saints fumble the ball and the Patriots recover the ball to get it back on offense. On the next play, Brady throws the ball in the general direction of Kevin Faulk who is not looking for the pass. The referees call intentional grounding on Brady, and holding on the Saints to offset the grounding call. On the next play, Brady hits Moss who almost loses the ball, but gets a 1st down on the play. After a short run by Morris, Brady tries to hit Welker on a screen pass, but the Patriots are called for an illegal formation on the play. Brady hits Moss along the sideline to gain a first down, and then Maroney is stuffed in the backfield on the next play by Vilma. The much needed big play comes on the next play, where Brady throws it deep and hits Moss to get down to the 3 yard line. Maroney gets the ball on the next play and converts it into a touchdown to cut the Saints lead to 24-17.
Roby returns the kick for the Saints out to the 26 yard line of the Saints. On the Saint's first offensive play, Brees hits Colston for a big gain down to the 6 yard line of the Patriots. Mike Bell then rushes for a gain of 3. Brees hits Darnell Dinkins for a touchdown to quickly answer the Patriots' long drive and score. The Saints extend their lead to 31-17.
Slater then takes the kickoff back and gets leveled at the 18 yard line. Brady brings the offense back out onto the field, looking to respond, and gives the ball to Welker on a reverse for a gain of 9, but is hit when he is out of bounds by Vilma to add on 15 extra yards. Morris gets 6 yards on the next play, and then Faulk takes a draw for a 1st down. After another short gain by Watson on a pass from Brady, McKenzie breaks up a pass to Sam Aiken. Brady then connects with Aiken for a 17 yard gain, and then Morris gains 3 yards on a short run. Brady gets pressured on the next play and is forced to get rid of the ball. On 3rd down, Brady hits Welker for a short gain, and Belichick would tell the offense to stay on the field for 4th down. McKenzie again breaks up a pass, and the Patriots turn the ball over on downs back to the Saints. The Patriots defense needs to stop the Saints here for the Patriots to have any chance to stay in this game.
Mike Bells gains 6 yards on the first carry of the next drive. The Saints offense is in rhythm right now and is looking to try and seal this game right now. Thomas gains 3 yards and then Bell gets the first down afterward. Brees hits Robert Meachem, who puts a good move on Adalius Thomas and gets a big gain for a 1st down. The Patriots defense finally steps up and gets at Brees and Thomas brings him down for the sack. On 2nd and 14, Thomas gains 2 yards and is met by a bunch of Patriots. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Patriots are down 31-17 to the Saints, who are driving yet again.
At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Patriots are down 31-17 to the Saints, who are driving yet again.
Patriots vs. Saints Quarter 2
The 2nd quarter begins, the Saints still have the ball, and start from the Patriots 30 yard line. Mike Bell gains 1 yard on the first play of the quarter, and is down on the field. The Saints can ill afford to lose Bell with Reggie Bush already out of this game. After the short time out, Brees hits Meachem on the outside for a 6 yard gain. Thomas is stuffed by Vince Wilfork on the next play, but gains the 1st down when Sean Payton decides to go for it on 4th down, showing he will not back down to Belichick. Pierre Thomas catches a pass from Brees on the next play, breaks a couple of tackles and makes some nice moves to get into the end zone and put the Saints up 10-7. Both defenses have really not been able to stop either offense as was expected in this game. Outside of the INT by McKenzie, both defenses have been giving up big plays to their other offense.
Matt Slater takes the kickoff to the Patriots 25 yard line, and Tom Brady will trot out to lead the offense again after throwing an INT on the last offensive series. On the first play of the drive, Brady hands the ball off to Welker who is in motion and gets 4 yards on the play. Stephen Neal is down on the field, but looks ok walking off of the field. ESPN is saying that Neal had a head injury that he was dealing with, so hopefully he is ok. On 2nd and 7, Brady hits Welker over the middle and he gains a 1st down on the play. Coming off of a big game last week, the Patriots will probably try to do the same thing to the Saints that they did to the Jets last week. Maroney gets the carry on 1st down and gains 5 on the play. The running game has been doing well so far against the Saints, giving the Patriots offense some much needed balance. On 2nd and 6, The Patriots are in a 5 WR set, and Brady's pass to Morris is dropped by Morris. Brady hits Sam Aiken for a short gain in front of the 1st down marker. The Patriots punt the ball back to the Saints, and Henderson takes the punt back to the Saints 24 yard line.
After the Saints get the ball, Brees hits a WIDE OPEN Henderson for a 75 yard touchdown pass. There was not a single Patriots defender anywhere near Henderson, which is probably the result of a complete breakdown in the defense. The Patriots cannot have breakdowns like this as the Saints will absolutely take advantage every single time. The Saints extend their lead to 17-7.
Matthew Slater returns the kick back to the Patriots 24 yard line, and Maroney gets the first carry of the drive, and runs over Roman Harper to gain a 1st down on the play. Maroney is limited to a short gain of 3 on the next play. Brady is sacked on the next play by Bobby McCray would flat out beat Nick Kazur off of the snap. Brady throws behind Welker and Malcolm Jenkins breaks up the pass. On another 3rd down, Brady tries to run for the 1st down, but is taken down from behind. However, Roman Harper is penalized for illegal contact as he grabbed Welker beyond the 5 yard limit from the line of scrimmage. On 1st down, Maroney gains about 4 yards with the new set of downs. Maroney gains 1 yard on the following play. On 3rd and 5, Welker catches a short pass but is taken down behind the 1st down marker. Stephen Gostkowski comes out and hits a 36 yard field goal to cut the Saints lead to 17-10.
Courtney Roby takes the kickoff back to the Saints 25 yard line. Brees hits Thomas on a screen play, and Thomas spins his way for a 3 yard gain. The Patriots looked like they had that one sniffed out. Brees hits Henderson for a 1st down on the next play. Henderson is already over 100 yards in the game, with 75 coming on one catch. Pierre Thomas gains about a yard on the next play. Brees throws 2 fakes on the next play, then hits former Patriots TE David Thomas for a 1st down and the 2nd minute warning. After the 2 minute warning, Brees hits Robert Meachem for a long touchdown pass to extend the Saints lead to 24-10.
On the Pats next series, Brady hits Maroney on a screen play to gain 8 yards and stop the clock by getting out of bounds. Brady is hit and he throws on the next play by Anthony Hargrove. Sam Aiken catches the next pass for a 1st down. Brady is hit yet again on the next play, but Malcolm Jenkins is called for holding and gives the Patriots a 1st down on the play. Welker catches a short pass to stop the clock and gain 7 on the play. On 2nd down, Brady hits Moss for a 1st down and Randy's first catch of the game. Faulk catches a pass out of the backfield on the next play, and takes a huge hit from Darren Sharper on the play and is shaken up on the sidelines. Brady tries to hit Watson again down the middle, but misses him again. Gostkowski comes out to try a 50 yard field goal, and misses it. The Patriots cannot afford to leave points on the field. Patriots vs. Saints Quarter 1
Drew Brees and the high powered Saints offense will start with the ball at the beginning of this game from their own 35 yard line. On the first play of the game, Brees would hit Devery Henderson for a 33 yard gain. This is not the start the Patriots were looking for, but was the start the Saints were looking for. The Patriots defense needs to contain the Saints as much as possible to stay in this game. Brees would hit Marques Colston on the next play for a short gain of 6. Brees would hit Pierre Thomas on the next play for a short gain of 2 yards. On 3rd down and 2, with a chance to stop the Saints offense early, the Patriots would allow Thomas to plow his way to get a first down. After a solid Mike Bell gain of 6, Brandon Meriwether would nearly pick off a Brees pass in the end zone. Thomas would gain 3 on the next play, and John Carney would bounce in a 31 yard FG off of the goal post. The Saints get the early lead 3-0 on the Patriots.
The Patriots start off the game at the 20 yard line in a 4 WR set. Brady would attempt to hit Sam Aiken deep down the field, but overthrow him. ESPN has also stated that Sammy Morris is now officially back and should see some action tonight. Sebastian Vollmer is also still playing LT for Matt Light who is still out. Maroney would carry the ball for a 1 yard gain after being hit in the backfield by Johnathan Vilma. Brady woudl hit Faulk out of the backfield next and would gain a 1st down. The Saints have been applying pressure on Brady with a lot of blitzes, but the offensive line has been doing a great job picking it up and giving Brady time to do what he wants with the ball. Morris would get the ball on the next play for a gain of 5. Maroney would get the carry on the next play, and run hard for a gain of 4. Maroney lowered his shoulder and kept his legs pumping to nearly get the 1st down. On 3rd down, Maroney would run behind the block of Sammy Morris, but would be short of the 1st down. On this 4th down, Belichick would go for it again. The Saints crowd would rise and become extremely loud, but Maroney would burst through a hole and get the touchdown. The drive would be 14 plays, 80 yards, and 7:40 off of the clock. The Patriots take the lead 7-3.
The Saints will star their next drive on their own 24 yard line. The Patriots last drive took up a lot of time, which is what they need to do to keep the Saints off of the field and not allow them opportunities to score points. Brees hit Jeremy Shockey on their first play for a 1st down, and Shockey would take a big hit from Meriwether but still hold onto the ball. After a gain of 6 by Thomas on the next play, the Saints would run a reverese to Henderson that would be stuffed by Tully Banta-Cain and Vince Wilfork. On 3rd and 4, the Saints go deep to Robert Meachem, but Brees overthrows him and the Saints will punt. Wes Welker returns the punt back to the Saints 40 yard line to set the Patriots up with good field position.

Patriots vs. Jets Quarter 4 Anaylsis
The Patriots would punt to the Jets to start the 4th quarter and the Jets would start at their own 48 yard line. The Jets would start off with Mark Sanchez being picked off by Leigh Bodden. Bodden now has a hat trick of interceptions and is playing the way the Patriots had hoped he would when they signed him.
Brady would then start off their next drive with a short pass to Wes Welker. Welker has been getting a lot of looks from Brady and has put up a lot of yards with 11 receptions for 155 yards so far in this game. Maroney would gain the 1st down on the next play, gaining 6 yards on the play. Maroney would then make some shifty moves to gain 8 yards on the next play. Green-Ellis would gain the 1st down by gaining 3 yards on the following play. Brady would then be pressured and throw an incomplete pass, and then have a delay of game called on him again on the next play. Now 2nd and 15, Brady would Welker who would bounce off a tackle, fumble the ball, and have it recovered by Kevin Faulk. However, Welker would be ruled down before he fumbled the ball. On 3rd and 2, Green-Ellis would be stuffed at the line of scrimmage to force a 4th down. Handson would then punt the ball back to the Jets. The Patriots continue to struggle to finish drives in the 2nd half, giving the Jets yet another chance to get closer in this game.
The Jets would start their next drive at their own 7 yard line. The Jets would have a false start penalty called on them on their first play on Dustin Keller, and be forced back to the 3 yard line.
